Install DocOps on a Mac

About 5 minutes · Updated 15 Sep 2026

This build is not notarized with an Apple certificate yet, so macOS blocks the first launch and you allow it once in System Settings. That is the normal macOS procedure for software outside the App Store, not an error. After you allow it once, later launches do not ask again.

  1. Choose the right file for your Mac

Click the Apple menu at the top left, choose About This Mac and read the Chip line:

    Chip line saysFile to download
    Apple M1, M2, M3, M4…DocOps-1.0.0-arm64.dmg (Apple Silicon build)
    Intel Core i5, i7, i9…DocOps-1.0.0.dmg (Intel build)

The wrong build will not open. If unsure, email Agentra a screenshot of the About This Mac window.

  2. Install

    1. Double-click the .dmg you downloaded. A window opens with the DocOps icon and an Applications folder.
    2. Drag the DocOps icon into Applications.
    3. Close the window and eject the DocOps disk on the desktop (right-click, Eject).
  3. First launch: allow it in System Settings

The steps depend on your macOS version. Check it in About This Mac.

3a. macOS 15 Sequoia and macOS 26 Tahoe

    1. Open the Applications folder (or Launchpad if your Mac has it) and double-click DocOps.
    2. macOS shows "Apple could not verify DocOps is free of malware". Click Done.
    3. Open System Settings, choose Privacy & Security and scroll down to the Security section.
    4. Next to "DocOps was blocked to protect your Mac", click Open Anyway. This line only appears after you tried to open the app in step 1.
    5. macOS asks once more: click Open Anyway, then confirm with Touch ID or your login password. From now on a double-click opens it directly.

In step 2, do not click "Move to Trash". That deletes the app you just installed.

3b. macOS 13 Ventura and macOS 14 Sonoma

    1. Open the Applications folder, right-click DocOps and choose Open.
    2. The dialog has an Open button: click it. A normal double-click does not show this button; you must right-click exactly once.

If there is no Open button, follow section 3a from step 3.

  4. If macOS says "DocOps is damaged"

This message appears when the installer was altered in transit, usually by re-compression or a file-sharing service. The app is not damaged. Open Terminal (Spotlight: press ⌘ + Space and type "Terminal"), paste the line below exactly, press Enter and type your login password if asked:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/DocOps.app

Then double-click DocOps as usual. If it still does not open, email Agentra for a fresh file; do not download a copy from elsewhere.

  5. Activate with your key

The first screen is Activation. Enter the key Agentra issued to your institution, in the form DOCOPS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, and click Activate. An internet connection is required. The build already points at the official DocOps server, so there is no address to type.

No key yet? On this screen choose No key yet (new registration), enter your institution and a contact, and Agentra will review the request and email you a key. Once activated you can ingest documents, search, review and draft.

  6. Getting new versions

No need to download the .dmg again. DocOps checks for and downloads new versions itself:

    1. Open Settings in the app and choose the Version tab.
    2. Click Check for updates.
    3. If a new version is available, click Download and install and wait for the progress bar to finish.
    4. Click Restart to install. DocOps closes, installs the new version and reopens.

Drafting something? Save it before clicking "Restart to install": that step closes the app immediately. If nothing happens after clicking, download the latest .dmg and install it again following steps 1 to 3.

  7. Reporting a problem

When something goes wrong, take a screenshot and note: which screen you were on, what you clicked, the exact message shown, your macOS version and chip. Send it to info@agentra.io.vn or use Feedback inside the app.
