Install DocOps on Windows

About 3 minutes · Updated 15 Sep 2026

This build does not carry a Windows code-signing certificate yet, so Windows shows a blue warning screen on the first install. That is the normal Windows procedure for software without a registered publisher signature (Microsoft calls it an "unknown publisher"), not a sign of a problem.

  1. Download the installer

Download DocOps Setup 1.0.0.exe from the Download page. It runs on any 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 computer; unlike macOS there is no chip to choose.

  2. Windows blocks it: "Windows protected your PC"

Double-click the .exe you downloaded. Windows Defender SmartScreen shows a blue dialog titled "Windows protected your PC" with a smaller line saying it does not recognise this app.

    1. Click "More info", just below the description; it is small and easy to miss.
    2. The dialog now shows the file name and a "Run anyway" button. Click it.

The reason: the current build is not code-signed, so Windows has no way to confirm who published it and asks you first by default. It is not a virus and not a broken installer.

  3. The installer

The DocOps Setup installer opens and asks for a folder. Keep the default and click through until it finishes; nothing needs changing.

  4. Open DocOps and activate

Open DocOps from the Start menu or the new shortcut. The first screen is Activation: enter the key Agentra issued to your institution, in the form DOCOPS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, and click Activate. An internet connection is required.

No key yet? On this screen choose No key yet (new registration), enter your institution and a contact, and Agentra will review the request and email you a key. Once activated you can ingest documents, search, review and draft.

  5. Getting new versions

No need to download the .exe again. DocOps checks for and downloads new versions itself:

    1. Open Settings in the app and choose the Version tab.
    2. Click Check for updates.
    3. If a new version is available, click Download and install and wait for the progress bar to finish.
    4. Click Restart to install. DocOps closes, installs the new version and reopens.

Drafting something? Save it before clicking "Restart to install": that step closes the app immediately.

  6. Other warnings

Windows may also show a warning from antivirus software installed on the computer (a third-party firewall or antivirus). Handle it like step 2: allow it to run once. If the app does not open or shows an error unlike anything above, take a screenshot and note which step you were on, what you clicked and the exact message, plus your Windows version (Settings, System, About). Send it to info@agentra.io.vn or use Feedback inside the app.
